Haffmans Turbidity Meter – VOS ROTA 2.0

The Haffmans Turbidity Meter, type Vos Rota 2.0 measures the scattered light caused by particles and incorporates the latest standards from the MEBAK including:

• 90° and 25° measurement angles
• Red light 650 ± 30 nm
• Formazin calibration standard

Particles smaller than 1 µm, such as proteins, mainly cause side-scattered light and are measured at 90º. Particles larger than 1 µm, such as diatomaceous earth (DE) and yeast, mainly cause forward-scattered light and are measured at 25º. The dual angle measurement provides operators with fast and reliable insight on the condition of the measured product. This allows for a quick response to deviations in the production process.

The software on Haffmans’ Vos Rota 2.0 is easy and intuitive to operate due to a user-friendly interface and a color touchscreen. To take the measurement, the bottle or cuvette is placed in the instrument and clamped with a magnetic centering mechanism. The water level and position of the lid are automatically checked prior to each measurement.

Then the sample is rotated, and multiple measurements are taken. Each measurement is stored in the instrument’s logbook and is traceable by a unique sample identification number. For further analysis, the measuring data can be transferred from Haffmans Vos Rota 2.0 to a Windows-based PC.

The Haffmans Vos Rota 2.0 provides simple and easy cleaning and maintenance. The magnets that position and fix the beverage sample do not require tools to remove. In addition, the Vos Rota 2.0’s innovative design eliminates any dead spaces, which significantly simplifies cleaning.

The Haffmans Vos Rota 2.0 fits the requirements of breweries of all sizes. It features the same laser technology as the Haffmans In-line Turbidity Meter, type OptHaze-i, which ensures excellent compatibility of these instruments. In addition, the Haffmans Vos Rota 2.0 is compatible with other instruments that incorporate the MEBAK recommendations.
